He has also been around the financial institution industry for his entire life. SJHL serves from very large multi-branched financial institutions down to small-town family-owned financial institutions.

U.S. Comptroller General appointed Scot to the U.S. GAO Strategic Planning Task Force as of June 19, 2003.

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Partnering for CPA Practice Success (PCPS) Technical Issues Committee (TIC) 1998-2001.

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee (GAAC) 1995-1998.

Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountant's Chair of the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee 1992-1995.

Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountant's representative to the Mid-America Intergovernmental Audit Forum (MAIGAF) since 1992. As of January 2002 and again in 2010, Scot was appointed to the executive committee of the MAIGAF.

Community Involvement:  Member of Rotary Club in Hutchinson, KS and member of Garden Community Church in Hesston, KS.
